I'm back after a long break. I took time away from the book, from writing, submitting and basically anything that wasn't related to getting married, moving to a new city and buying a house. Yeah, that's a lot of stuff and I only have so much brain juice. Now that I'm hitched up and settled into my new casa, the world has reset itself and the gyroscope that helps me make decisions has once again pointed itself toward the book. So what does that mean?
It means I'm back writing, pecking away at Act 3. I'm 87,000+ words in and I can see the light. I suspect I will hit 100,000 words soon and then cut 15,000 again. All of that being said, I'm happy to be writing and chipping away at the ice sculpture I call North Coast Video. The time away was valuable. The lesson is: sometimes it's okay to step away. Just make sure you eventually come back.
