Bosco applied pressure to the pumper, earning the scorn of Earl.

"I've warned you, over and over again. Don't push the pressure until we're clear of False Canyon. You're gonna burn out the crank wheels."

"Horse shit, I say. This old girl is built to run. We're barely a-trottin' as is."

Earl held his tongue. He'd had this conversation too many to care to argue his point.

Over False Canyon, the crank wheels burnt out.

Even from the wheelhouse, they could hear the passengers scream.

"Damnit, Bosco! Just damnit!"

"It ain't my fault! When was the last time you greased the crank wheels?!"
